              1)  We begin class with a 16-question review/recap!!!

              2)  Then.... they FINALLY get a 10 minute FREE CHOICE!

2nd GRADE LESSONS THIS WEEK

   Emphasis on: STORY TELLING through slides! - PART 2

               1)  Students ANIMATE stories in PowerPoint using new
                     characters or the ones they already created last month.

3rd GRADE LESSONS THIS WEEK

 
   Emphasis on:  PowerPoint culmination - PART 2

                1)  Students end the year with their own MY LIFE slideshows.

                2)  Today is ANIMATION!  Well done!

4th GRADE LESSONS THIS WEEK

       Emphasis on Netiquette Slideshows - PART 2

            1) Students wrap up the Year of Communication with slideshows about
                  proper netiquette.  Copy and paste the following into their own
                  PowerPoint slides (don't forget to site your source:
                  http://www.edutopia.org/whats-next-2008-netiquette-guidelines )

PROPER NETIQUETTE:

• Don't SHOUT in all caps.
   

• Remember: The person on the other end of a digital communication can't see your expression or hear your tone of voice.
   

• Cool off before responding to messages in anger.
   

• Check messages for misspellings or misstatements.
   

• Respect others' privacy and your own (for example, don't give your number to that new MySpace friend).
   

• Use a clear and understandable email subject line.
   

• Adjust your tone and style to the situation (for example, don't use IM-speak or all lowercase letters in an internship application).
   

• Don't forward private messages to people they weren't intended for or copy others on replies to personal messages.
   

• Remember: Email is never really private and a copy may exist in cyberspace . . . forever.

5th GRADE LESSONS THIS WEEK

       Emphasis on:  End of the Year Finale!

                                      My Fifth Grade in Technology
                 
             1)  Students have 45 minutes to create a document/presentation
                   using any tool they learned this year on the topic above.
                    It can be:
                             - a POWERPOINT slideshow telling about the many things they did
                             - a WORD DOCUMENT in paragraph and picture format telling what they did
                             - a SCRATCH CARTOON that animates what they did
                             - an iMovie with TITLES and PHOTOS that tells and shows what they did
                             - a GarageBand recording that tells what they did
                             - a WEBSITE in KompoZer that links to what they did
