Celebrating Children's Talents with Technology                                                                                                                                         Having a blast since 2003!

Introduction          Current Locations          Options for Schools

One of the most common concerns expressed by parents and administrators regarding their schools' technology
program is...

"How do we make sure our computer lab is being used to its full potential?"

Many members of the school who have raised funds for an updated computer lab soon realize that having a current computer lab is only the first step in utilizing technology effectively on a K-8 level. Schools have the daunting obligation to keep up with the latest technologies on behalf of their students and teachers. Even with all the most current technological tools available, schools still must find effective leaders to get the most out of innovative integration. The DELIVERY of the technology instruction is the key ingredient, and since 2005, that's where PlanetBravo has come in.

We teach K-8 computer classes for your school.
The classroom teachers gain experience and
confidence in working with technology while
they and their students receive effective,
standards-based lessons in our classes.

We upgrade and maintain your technology.
PlanetBravo can modernize the technology programs at
a school, allowing for roaming profiles of all users, server-based
sharing, streaming video and chat tools, hourly back-ups of all
data, and so much more.  It is even possible for teachers to
access their school files from home at several locations.

Written and led by PlanetBravo Academic Director and California State Certified teacher Danny Pezzotta in 1999, PlanetBravo's technology curriculum has been upgraded each and every year to meet the changing needs of our times. It is the most comprehensive program available at the K-8 level, integrating state content-standards with technology. Upon completion of the full curriculum, students will have learned how to responsibly use computers and the internet to film and edit video projects, animate digital diagrams, design websites, post wikis and blogs, along with the basics of typing, spreadsheet analysis, proper researching techniques, and troubleshoot typical computer issues.

For the past six years, our curriculum and services have been used by several local organizations including University Elementary School (UCLA), Kenter Canyon Charter School, Beverly Hills Recreation and Parks Department, Hillel Hebrew Academy, and Santa Monica’s CREST Enrichment Program, to name a few.

SOME LOCAL SCHOOLS WHERE YOU CAN FIND PLANETBRAVO DAY-TIME CLASSES:

PlanetBravo provides technology instruction with a content-standards integrated curriculum to schools in the Los Angeles area at an affordable cost, and the initial consultation is absolutely FREE. Academic Director Danny Pezzotta will personally visit your school, conduct a brief survey of your current technological uses, and make on-the-spot suggestions for your technology program to utilize.  If you would like an official technology plan and/or part-time curriculum provider, arrangements can be made for that as well.

Our goal is to bring your school to the cutting edge of technology. We can assist you in this swiftly, and most importantly, at an affordable rate for your school.

If you would like to consider this opportunity for your school or would like more information, please contact us at 310.443.7607, or email us at info@planetbravo.com.

OPTIONS FOR SCHOOLS

OPTION 1 – Technology Program Assessment
/ Site Tech Plan

Under this option, PlanetBravo performs a thorough analysis of current technology systems in place at the school.  Analysis includes past and present technology staffing needs, integration of technology by faculty/staff, network configurations, software/hardware inventory, computer security, school website, technical support and most importantly, processes/protocols already in place for the handling of the above.

An assessment and 3-year technology plan is devised and presented to the school with two revisions included in the plan. PlanetBravo can work with a school committee or independently through regular consultations with designated staff.

This assessment and technology plan is completed within one month (4 weeks) of the signed contractual agreement.  Your school will benefit from getting a careful analysis of the current state of technology and a plan to implement further innovations.  The completed plan gives precise timelines and budgets for implementing prioritized technology tasks.

OPTION 2 –Technology Curriculum Integration & Instruction

Our passion is innovative technology instruction.  Not only do we aim to have children and teachers use technology competently and regularly in today’s schools, we work hard to see important technologies integrated with the school’s curriculum and aligned with state standards and traditional teacher lesson plans.

This option provides a professionally-trained technology instructor to teach classes in your school’s computer lab each week, for as many weeks as you wish.  Our typical agreement includes one teacher leading several revolving classes once or twice a week for a semester or school year.  Our curriculum utilizes the school's existing productivity and multimedia software, as well as our own that we are authorized to provide to schools, including specialized animation, game design, and graphical programs.  The world wide web is one of our greatest assets, of course, so even if your school does not own any site licenses of software, we have a collection of fine children-friendly academic websites from which to choose.

The designated instructor assigned to the school will work on a schedule with classroom teachers, and lesson overviews will be provided in advance.  It is our goal to have classroom and technology teachers aligned in all course work.  Classes are put on a rotation schedule through the computer lab, and lab projects coincide with current classroom projects when applicable.  On days that the PlanetBravo specialist is not on campus, teachers are encouraged to sign up for lab time with their classes to further utilize and make progress with the lesson(s) taught by the specialist.

OPTION 3 – Total Technology Integration
(Includes program assessment, recommendations, official technology plan and weekly instruction days
for classes.)

This option combines Options 1 and 2 from above.  In addition to the weekly instruction offered for your classes, PlanetBravo develops your site technology plan with benchmarks and guidelines to utilize technology to its fullest.

PlanetBravo works with your current technical support team to make sure systems are in place and functioning, and makes recommendations based on collective input.

You can feel confident that with this plan your technology program will be carefully developed and have a solid direction in which to progress.
