Frequently Asked Questions

Basecamp

What is Basecamp?

Basecamp is PlanetBravo's complete camp experience built just for K-5. Campers enjoy creative projects, games, team challenges, indoor and outdoor play, and the rewards and prizes that are part of PlanetBravo camp.

Which grades can attend?

Basecamp is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade after the summer. Activities are guided by PlanetBravo staff in age-appropriate groups.

Do we choose a course for the week?

No. Basecamp campers explore a mix of activities throughout the week rather than enrolling in one selected technology course or STEM lab. Weekly camp themes guide the projects, games, and challenges.

How is Basecamp different from Junior STEM and Techno-tainment Camp?

Basecamp offers a broad mix of crafts, projects, puzzles, games, and active play for K-5. Junior STEM focuses on hands-on science and engineering for K-1. Techno-tainment Camp gives campers entering grades 2-9 a selected technology or creative course for the week.

Is Basecamp a computer camp?

Basecamp is not a computer-course program. Hands-on activities, creative projects, team challenges, and indoor and outdoor play are its focus.

What does a typical day look like?

The sample day includes morning games, an opening meeting, creative projects, outdoor team challenges, snack and lunch breaks, puzzles or crafts, and rewards at the closing meeting. The camp day runs from 9am to 3pm.

Are rewards and prizes part of Basecamp?

Yes. Rewards, recognition, celebrations, and prizes are part of the experience, recognizing effort, kindness, creativity, and accomplishments.
